Oily Skin
The key to managing oily skin is the consistent use of a routine that cleans, exfoliates and provides oil-free hydration. When pimples and breakouts occur, spot treatment with an antibacterial topical preparation is recommended. Salicylic Acid (a type of beta hydroxy acid) is naturally found in White Willow Bark and is an effective topical exfoliator and anti-inflammatory. White Willow Bark Extract has been included in the Purifying Gel Cleanser, Rebalancing Toner Mist and Clarifying Skin Gel to support a clear complexion.
Generally, creams are not recommended for oily skin as the ingredients can plug pores. Instead, for instant non-oily hydration look to Hyaluronic Acid containing products such as the Hydrating Serum or Clear Complexion Moisturiser.
Whilst denatured alcohol and benzoyl peroxide are common and effective ingredients that make their way into many topical products designed for oily skin, my approach has been to include niacinamide (Vitamin B3), targeted phyto-actives and anti-bacterial essential oils to support a healthy microbiome and balance oil flow to minimise blemishes and pimples. The Clear Complexion Moisturiser and Clarifying Skin Gel contain these active ingredients.
